It’s true that charity begins at home. In 1999, Benefis Foundation’s Caring For Our Own program was established to help Benefis employees and volunteers grappling with a sudden crisis. The fund provides financial assistance when they need it the most.
Caring For Our Own is completely funded through contributions and administered by a committee of Benefis employees who review applications each month.
From significant travel costs due to the loss of a loved one, to tragic accidents or life-threatening illnesses, to losing their home and belongings to fire, Benefis employees have experienced personal hardships that have been greatly eased by the Caring For Our Own Fund. More than 1,465 Benefis employees have been helped by the fund since it began.
