Introduction

Dr. Michael Sheffield takes care of hospitalized patients, and the responsibility of caring for patients has always been his favorite part of being a physician.

With a positive and supportive demeanor, Dr. Sheffield is most focused on helping patients be successful when it comes to their care. “I want my patients to feel supported, to know they are No. 1, and that I’m their first advocate,” Dr. Sheffield says. “When they leave the hospital, I’m still invested in their well-being.”

From critical care medicine and COVID-19 care to pre-operative medicine and beyond, Dr. Sheffield’s career has allowed him to help patients in a variety of settings. He is also passionate about medical education, and for 25 years he’s been training and developing medical students to become confident healthcare providers.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Sheffield enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and photography.
