  • Carpal tunnel release: This surgery relieves pain from carpal tunnel syndrome by cutting a specific ligament at the base of the hand. This makes more room for the tendons and nerve that pass through the carpal tunnel.

  • Closed reduction and fixation: This realigns broken bones in the hand and immobilizes them so they can heal.

  • Cubital tunnel surgery: Cubital tunnel syndrome happens when the ulnar nerve (the “funny bone” nerve) is stretched or compressed. The result is pain, tingling, or weakness in the hand. Surgery to correct this condition involves moving the ulnar nerve to a different position in the elbow, where it’s less likely to be injured.

  • Joint replacement: People with severe arthritis in their hand can benefit from this surgery, which replaces the damaged joint with an artificial one.

  • Tendon repair: Tendons can be injured or completely torn. The repair reconnects the torn portions, either directly or with a graft.

  • Trigger finger surgery: With trigger finger, certain tissues in the finger become inflamed or thickened, making it hard for the tendons to slide smoothly. Eventually, the affected finger is very difficult to extend and may lock in a bent position. Surgery releases the tendon so it can glide freely.
