Financial Assistance
Limited finances shouldn’t prevent you from seeking the medical care you need. As a not-for-profit community health system, we’re committed to caring for those in need – regardless of your ability to pay. If you’re uninsured or underinsured, you may qualify for a partial or total reduction of your medical bill.
You may be eligible for financial assistance for emergency or medically necessary healthcare services, if:
- Your family income is below 400 percent of the federal poverty guidelines (for discounted charges) or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines (for free care). In either case, your available assets must be below established thresholds.
- Your medical debt is more than 30 percent of your individual or family’s annual gross income (for a 100 percent write off). For eligibility, you can’t have more than $7,500 in individual assets or more than $15,000 in family assets.
The Benefis Financial Assistance Policy applies to fees for your hospital stay and treatment, and may also in some cases apply to the charges for services provided by physicians and other providers.
