Home Health

Benefis Community Care has nursing opportunities in both licensed home health and case management nursing.

Licensed Home Health Nursing:

This specialty blends both science and sensitivity and is dedicated to quality, cost-effective patient care.
Home health nursing is truly one of the only experiences you will have as a nurse where you can get to know your patient and their home environment, allowing for a more personal relationship. As a home health nurse, you will be providing:

Direct patient care: Ranging from medication management, complex wound care, and IV administration to PICC line dressing change.

Observation and assessment: At the start of care, you will complete a comprehensive assessment. After that, most visits will be a focused assessment pertaining to your patient’s specific healthcare issues. As a home health nurse, you will work with your patient to assess, observe, and intervene to avoid further complications.

Teaching and training: Even when patients receive basic education for a newly diagnosed condition at the hospital, most will continue to need education and follow-up upon discharge to their home. This teaching, as well as teaching caregivers, is one of the most essential and rewarding benefits of being a home health nurse. Teaching may include, but is not limited to: instructions regarding medication, diet, disease process, care procedure, and/or signs and symptoms to report to the physician.

Management and evaluation: This unique home care service focuses on ensuring your patient or caregiver follows the plan of care ordered by their physician. The goal is to implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care to promote your patient’s successful recovery and safety in the home.
